As a member of the curatorial committee, I worked on a team to select a body of work for the Brown | RISD Dual Degree Exhibition, discussing perspectives with the team. I attended weekly meetings and collaborated with a group to plan a theme and title, designing the overall concept for the exhibition: I left the room and it came with me. We assisted in installation, moving artwork carefully, and working with the artists to present their work in their vision.

I led the reception committee, which was dedicated to food, decorations, music, and activities. This involved clear communication with my team and organized planning in spreadsheets and notes.

With the gallery team from Lovejoy High School, we expanded our gallery space to display work from artists all across Texas. With advertising and planning, we hosted the Regional Emerging Texas Artists Show, featuring work selected by a panel of judges. By contacting sponsors, we had awards funded for the selected artists. 

This exhibition transformed our recent work that was within our local community by involving more processes of scheduled art intake and communication with the team. We designed a flyer not only for the show, but also to find sponsors.

At the end of the year, both the AP Drawing and AP 2D Design students present their work in a rented exhibition space in Downtown Fairview. This event was also curated by the Lovejoy Gallery Team, as we designed floor plans, prepared food, created posters, and advertised on social media. This gallery is the largest space we have hosted a show in, and it requires the movement of many panels to display the work. 

As the artists include our peers in the Lovejoy Visual Arts program, the communication for the showcase remains clear, and we set deadlines for artwork movement and planning.

For two years, I had the opportunity to plan, prepare, and host ten shows each year along with seven other gallery managers. We patched walls, painted, selected work, hung work using laser levels, prepared individual statements, designed invites, and advertised through the school’s weekly blurbs. This has trained us to maintain excellent communication not only with the students, but with the teachers on other campuses in the school district. We met daily in the Gallery Management class, yet our intensive work required even more time spent outside of school. 

We have also been invited to host local exhibitions in the town hall. The City of Lucas hired us for April and May in 2024 and 2025 to curate work from all grade levels of Lovejoy, print out scans, and present them in frames. We were featured in the town's local newspaper for this exhibition.
